Come join in an informal artist talk with Amanda Gentry and Nathaniel Patschke as they discuss how they approached new ways of working with raw materials from the natural environment in regards to painting and the sculptural vessel.
The relationship between the artist and their creative work is often fraught with uncertainty, leaving many an artist feeling raw and fragile. Knowing that therein lies the possibility of growth, Amanda Gentry and Nathaniel Patschke embark upon new ways of working with raw materials from the natural environment in their approach to painting and the sculptural vessel. Both artists seek transcendence through their creative disciplines by being grounded in the earth. In Amanda’s paintings, through a telluric palette sourced from the earth itself, and in Nathaniel’s vessels, with organic forms evocative of subterranean roots. The result is a dialogue that invites the viewer into a renewed connection with the elemental.
